MortgageExplained is operated by Muswell Rose Consulting Limited. This site gives general mortgage information and, if you ask, introduces you to a regulated mortgage broker. It is not financial advice and we are not a lender. By using the site you accept the terms below.

Who we are

MortgageExplained is a trading name of Muswell Rose Consulting Limited, which owns and operates this website. When we say "we" or "us" on this page, we mean Muswell Rose Consulting Limited.

What this site is, and is not

We publish general information to help you understand how UK mortgages work. We are not a lender, we are not a mortgage adviser, and nothing on this site is a personal recommendation or financial advice. When you are ready, we can introduce you to a regulated mortgage broker who can give you advice that is right for your situation. Any advice, and any mortgage, comes from that regulated broker or lender, not from us.

The introduction service

If you submit an enquiry, we pass your details to a regulated mortgage broker so they can contact you. The introduction is free. The broker may charge a fee for their advice, or be paid a commission by the lender, and they will tell you how they are paid before you commit to anything. You are never obliged to proceed, and you are free to use a different broker or go direct to a lender.

Accuracy of information

We take care to keep our guides accurate and dated, and to cite our sources. Mortgage rules, lender criteria and rates change often, sometimes weekly. Information on this site is general and indicative, it may not be current at the moment you read it, and it is not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. Always confirm the current position with a regulated broker before you act.

Our liability

We provide this site in good faith but cannot accept liability for decisions you make based on general information here. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Links to other sites

Where we link to other websites, including sister sites and official sources, we do so for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content of sites we do not control.
