Cookie policy
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. MortgageExplained currently sets no tracking or advertising cookies, and you can read the whole site without accepting anything. If we add analytics in future we will update this page and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website can store in your browser. Cookies can be strictly necessary (needed for the site to work), or non-essential (analytics, personalisation or advertising, which need your consent under UK law).
What we use today
We keep this site deliberately light. It currently sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no login or account. You do not need to accept a cookie banner to read the guides or use the calculators, which run entirely in your browser.
If that changes
If we later add analytics to understand which guides are useful, we will update this policy to list exactly what is used, and we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie. You will always be able to decline and still use the site.
Third parties
If you follow a link to a regulated broker or another website, that site has its own cookies and its own policy, which we do not control. When you are introduced to a broker, they handle your data under their own privacy and cookie policies.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Questions about this policy can go to [email protected]. See also our privacy notice and data protection page.
