What we are

MortgageExplained, operated by Muswell Rose Consulting Limited, is an information and introducer website. We are not a mortgage lender, we do not arrange mortgages, and we do not give regulated advice. When you are ready, we introduce you to a regulated mortgage broker who can advise you and arrange a mortgage.

Accuracy and currency

We work to keep our content accurate, dated and sourced, but mortgage rates, lender criteria, tax rules and thresholds change frequently, sometimes at short notice. Figures and examples on this site are indicative and may not be current when you read them. Illustrative worked examples are labelled as such and are not quotes. Always check the latest position with a regulated broker or the relevant official source before making a decision.

Your home and your borrowing

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. Most buy-to-let mortgages are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Borrowing decisions carry real risk, and you should not rely on general information here in place of advice.
