What happens when you send us an enquiry
When you send an enquiry through a Mortgage Explained form, it goes to the Mortgage Explained team by email. We read it. We do not currently pass enquiries on to a mortgage broker or any other firm, and we do not give mortgage advice or arrange mortgages. The Propillo tool on this page is separate: Propillo runs it, and its own terms and privacy policy apply.
Our own form
- 1. You tell us your situation. No credit check, no obligation.
- 2. The enquiry is saved and emailed to the Mortgage Explained team.
- 3. We read it and may reply by email. Replying is not mortgage advice.
We are an information website, not a broker, lender or adviser. If you want advice on your own case, speak to a regulated mortgage broker. Our guide to how to find a mortgage broker explains how to check one on the FCA Register.
The Propillo tool is separate
The intake tool below is an embedded third-party tool run by Propillo, an independent service. Anything you type into it is collected by Propillo under its own privacy policy and terms. If the tool offers to put you in touch with a regulated broker, that is Propillo's own process, not a Mortgage Explained introduction.
Third-party tool
Propillo client intake
Run by Propillo, not by Mortgage Explained. Read Propillo's own terms and privacy policy before you use it.
Common questions
Who receives my enquiry?
Enquiries sent through our own form go to the Mortgage Explained team by email. We do not currently pass them on to a mortgage broker or any other firm.
Will a broker contact me?
Not because you used our form: we do not pass enquiries on to brokers. If you use the Propillo intake tool on this page, Propillo runs that process, not us, and its own terms and privacy policy apply.
Do you give mortgage advice or arrange mortgages?
No. Mortgage Explained is an information website. For advice on your own case, speak to a regulated mortgage broker. Check any broker on the FCA Register before you share more details.
Will it affect my credit file?
Sending us an enquiry does not involve a credit search. A credit search only happens if you later apply for a mortgage with a lender, with your consent.
What does it cost?
Sending us an enquiry is free. If you speak to a broker, they may charge a fee for their advice, be paid commission by the lender, or both, and they must tell you before you commit.
